The Debriefing

Well, here we are again. Bike trip numero dos. Northern Tier 2014. Awesomeo Journey 3000. The Expedition of Friendship. Just a few titles of this shortly thought out blog for anothet cross-country bike tour. Manayunk, PA to Bar Harbor, ME to Anacortes, WA. 3 Best Friends. 4 months of cycling. There's the plot.

I'm going to experiment a bit with this blog; different writing styles and what have you.

Currently, my lovely parents are driving my bicycle and I up to Manayunk, PA to meet up with Mike Hinchey and Josh Johnson.

My two best pals; Josh and Mike. What to say? How do I sum up 10 or so years of friendship in a paragraph? I don't think you can. We laugh, fight, smile, and adventure together. We make fun of each other. We do best friend shit, ya know? They're my brothers and I couldn't be happier that they're with me on this trip.

This evening, I'm heading to my friends' house in Manayunk, PA to have one last celebration before we all head out. Feeling nervous, happy, and utterly alive.

I'll keep this thing updated as much as possible. It will be a different experience on the road with my best friends so you likely won't hear me whine and bitch as much as before. I'll just burden them with that stuff. Ride starts tomorrow.

Here we come.

The Novara Safari. My new bike I received for completing college. Oh yeah, I finished college. My buddy Mike is taking the old mountain bike from last year. I'm gonna ride her every other day.

Josh Johnson. Probably met maybe around 5th grade in Ms. Chabok's class. Best friends. This is him on his 21st birthday. He doesn't remember this but I do very well. I love this kid. Funny, generous, kind, and genuine.

Bottom right over here is Mike Hinchey. I've known this kid forever. My other best bai. Smart, stubborn, spontaneous, and genuine. Much love.
