"I asked my wife around Thanksgiving, 'Ya know, what do you think about this trip? How would you feel about it?' Then Christmas came around and I asked her again. Finally, in late fall, I prodded once again. She said, 'Just go already! You're driving me nuts!'"

"I grew up about twenty miles south of here. Yeah, ya know, I've been to Glacier National Park. Spent some cold nights up there. One night I let the engine run on my motorcycle and laid a shirt on my gas tank as a pillow. I'll tell you what though, it sure is beautiful out there."

"I'm riding to raise awareness for Parkinson's Disease. This is my third tour since being diagnosed six years ago. The best thing? Definitely the people. I got to a mountain once that I knew I couldn't physically get over. A woman stopped to see if I was alright. Wouldn't you know it she let me stay at her house and we're still friends to this day."

"I've been some places and Glacier Park is, no doubt, the most beautiful. If you're up there, look for Lake Mcdonald. That's where I go just about every year. A few years ago, I fell asleep leaning against some kind of boiling pipe. Woke up in the morning, and it had burned the hell out of my arm. I'm paralyzed so I never felt a thing. But it messed up all the tattoos on my goddamn arm."

"I've lived in five different states in the past year. I just moved out of an apartment with two guys Pete and Sal. Pete was a raging alcoholic but he was really nice and always cooked dinner for me. We would just have beer down the river or something on random occasions. Sal lived in a trailer behind the house. I lived there for dirt cheap and now I'm in Fergus Falls; a little dinky town."

"You'd be surprised about North Dakota actually. There's a lot of ponds and water around the border of South Dakota. It sure is amazing how quiet it gets out there. One day, in a span of three hours, I was passed by only three cars."

"I envy what you're doing. It's always been a dream of mine. Hell, I just turned 55 this week. I'll tell you what I have done though. I've rode my bike through the last three winters here; studs on the tires and all."

"Well, it is Saturday night. I really doubt he's dead, I wouldn't worry too much. He probably just got extremely drunk and passed out in the street."

We're picking up mail in Moorehead on Monday. Until then, we're staying over Tanner's apartment from CouchSurfing. He's amazing. We watched the movie Fargo and we're going to explore the little city tomorrow.
G'night.
